It's a hard thing to admit my racing days are over. As much as I loved darting through the downtown alleys and hammering into a bright headwind, the fastest I ride these days is when I'm running late for work.

I suppose that there are really only two types of bicyclists in this world; those that have been hit by a car, and those that will be. For me, I joined the first group a few weeks ago. Granted, it was little more than a love tap on the pannier, but it was very annoying.

For many years, Steve Kovacevic rode a red Specialized Rockhopper, fondly referred to as "Big Red," but in later years sported a Trek mountain bike or Trek touring bike. If you encountered Steve on your ride, it is likely that you got to chat with him about the glories of bicycle commuting. Unfortunately, after a brief battle with cancer, Steve passed away on April 14th...

Doesn't it seem that flats come in cycles (no pun intended)? Sometimes this may be because you failed to find that nail or piece of glass or other rubber invader. Three times on my morning commutes to work in the past few weeks, it has happened to me.

[September 1, 2011 â€" Indianapolis, IN] - The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis and Bicycle Garage Indy (BGI) are inviting the public to its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Indy Bike Hub YMCA. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 am, September 14 at the City Market, 222 E. Market Street (east wing). Tours will be available immediately following the ceremony. Mayor Greg Ballard, City of Indianapolis, will be attending the event and is expected to make remarks.
